Stable, accurate auto white balance
The Visible Light + IR Sensor works with deep learning-based illumination estimation to achieve stable, accurate auto white balance under any lighting. Together, they enable natural color reproduction in a wide variety of scenes.
Up to 8.5-step central and 7.0-step peripheral stabilization
Superb stabilization performance maximizes resolution, preventing degradation due to blur. Stabilization is even more effective with compatible lenses10, and telephoto lens shake is also effectively suppressed.
Blackout-free continuous shooting at up to 30 fps3 with full AF/AE
Shoot bursts at up to 30 fps3 at full 66.8 MP1 resolution, with AF/AE tracking and no viewfinder blackout. Up to 60 AF/AE calculations per second4 effortlessly track even complex subject movement. Plus, with the upgraded BIONZ XR2 processing engine and CFexpress Type A card support, capture up to 215 JPG and 65 Compressed (HQ) RAW images continuously13.
Temporarily boost speed while shooting bursts
During continuous burst shooting, press an assigned custom button to change the shooting speed — for example, from 10 fps to 30 fps16 — when the key moment approaches. This feature can be used even while shooting single frames.
Improved subject recognition performance
Recognition of distant animals and birds has been significantly improved. Choose from Human, Animal, Bird, Insect, Car/Train, or Airplane17 mode, or let Auto detect the subject type18. Even when Subject Recognition is turned off, Sony’s original algorithm processes multiple data points for reliable tracking.
